Oppo FindX Price Enters Apple, Samsung Range
Oppo has revealed the price of its upcoming FindX smartphone, and it seems like the Chinese brand is gunning for the upmarket demographic that Samsung and Apple currently dominate.
Tagged at PhP 49,999, the device is significantly more expensive than flagship models from mid-market brands Vivo, Huawei, OnePlus and Xiaomi. It’s around PhP 5,000 cheaper than the Samsung galaxy S9+ and PhP 15,000 less expensive than Apple’s iPhoneX.
The FindX’s main innovation is its retractable front camera which pops out when apps that require camera use are opened. With this camera-concealing design convention, Oppo was able to avoid the screen “notch” popularized by the iPhoneX. The result is a 94% screen-to-body ratio that grants users an almost all-screen front side.
The FindX also leans heavily on AI to enhance user experience. The phone leverages advanced algorithms to enhance photo quality, as well as to preload your favorite apps for faster start times.
The FindX runs Android 8.1 overlaid with Oppo’s proprietary ColorOS 5.1. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and 8GB of RAM. It also has 256 GB of flash memory for all your apps, photos, videos, music and more.
Other specs include a 6.4-inch screen, a fast-charging 3,730 mAh battery, and body colors that include Bordeaux Red and Glacier Blue. The phone will have a more expensive Lamborghini special edition body made of carbon fiber which might be interesting to fans of the luxury car brand.
The Oppo FindX launches in the Philippines on August 11, 2018.
